1. A piece of stone fell from a balloon when it was flying in the upward direction with a velocity 20m/sec. what will be the height of the balloon when the stone hit the ground in 10seconds?

Solution:

Given that,
u=20 m/S
t=10 second
g=9.8 m/s
Distance S=?
We know that,
S=-ut + 1/2 gt^2
The velocity of the stone= negative value of the velocity of the balloon
(যেহেতু Direction বিপরীত)
Or, S=-20*10+0.5*9.8*(10)^2
Or,S=-200+490=290

So, when the stone fell in the ground,then height of the balloon=290+20*10=490 m
Answer:490 meter

2. Find the maximum value of z=6x+2y suject to the condition x>=0, y>=0,: x+y=5;x<=2, y<=4

Solution:

For 6X+2y be maximum the value of X must be maximum from the given condition the maximum value of X can be 2 and then the value of y will be =3 as x+y=5
and then the maximum value of z will be = 6*2+2*3 =12+6 =18


if we put any value of x less than 2 than the value of z will be less than 18 as we can put x=1.9 and y= 3.1 or x=1.5,y = 3.5 as we get from putting those z= 17.6 or z= 16
so maximum value of z must be 18

3. The sum of the digits of a two-digit number is subtracted from the number , how many such two digit numbers can be formed so that the digit in the unit place of the resulting number is 6.

Solution:

let the number be 10X+Y ,( Y is in unit place and X is in the tenth place )
so the sum of the digits will be X+Y
if the sum of the digits subtracted from the number than the result will be
10X+Y-(X+Y)= 9X

so the number resulting will be always the product of 9 so if its need to have 6 in unit place so the value of X must be 4 as e result it will be 9*4=36 here 6 in the unit place so all the two digit number which has 4 in tenth place will be the number so total such number will be 10 ( 40,41,42,43,44,45,46,47,48,49)

5. A semi circular sheet of metal of diameter 28 cm is bent into an open conical cup. Find the depth and capacity of cup.

Solution:

Given diameter = 28 cm
Radius, r = 14 cm
Circumference of semi circle = πr
= (22/7) x 14 = 44 cm
This becomes circumference of base of cone
2πR = 44
R = 44 x (7/44)
R = 7 cm
The radius of semi circular sheet = slant height of conical cup
That is l = 7 cm
We know that r2 + h2 = l2
142 + h2 = 72
196 – 49 = h2
h2 = 147
Therefore, h = 7√3 cm
That is depth of the conical cup is 7Ö3 cm
Capacity of cup = (1/3) πr2h
= (1/3) x (22/7) x 72 x 7√3
= 622.37 cm3
